Higher Secondary Schools

Following the revision of nomenclature for the various levels of schooling in 2002, all schools having Class XII as their terminal class have been reclassified as "Higher Secondary Schools".

Eligibility
Candidates with minimum total score of 288(marks subject to change every year) marks in English + 4 best subjects are eligible for admission in class XI.

Choice of stream and school Regional clusters are required to adhere to the following guidelines for placement of their class X qualified candidates.
  • Students opting for Science stream should have a minimum of 45% in Mathematic and 55% in Science with pass grades in all 3 Sciences. Merit order listing will be based on sum of science and mathematic.
  • All students, who meet the minimum cut-off, point for Science stream should be encouraged to take up science and if required schools must introduce more sections as far as possible.
  • All Higher Secondary Schools must have a minimum of one section of Science stream.
  • Students opting for Commerce stream should have a minimum of 40% in Mathematic. Merit order listing will be based on aggregate of English + Mathematic.
  • Day scholars of the Higher Secondary School, who meet the Regional cluster cut-off point, will be retained in their own school as Day scholar.
  • Admission policy on boarding must be strictly followed.
  • Only students with 2005 mark sheets with all six BCSE subjects will be considered.
  • Choice of school for boarding candidates will be based on merit ranking.


  • Documents required to be produced during the placement interview
    Eligible candidates are required to produce Character Certificate, Transfer Certificate, and Citizenship Card and Mark sheet.

    Seats
  • Minimum class size of 40 students to be maintained in all the Higher Secondary schools
  • In case of excess number of candidates only required number will be admitted based on merit and the rest will be accommodated in other clusters.
  • Students will have to be prepared to study as Day-scholars after the boarding seats are filled.


  • Candidates for scholarship
    Admission of Scholarship candidate will be done as per the name list are sent to Regional Chairperson by the Department of School Education, subject to score of minimum of 250 marks in English + 4 best subjects will be awarded scholarship and remarked in the list accordingly.

    Venue and date for the Placement Interview
    Eligible candidates seeking admission in class XI are required to report to the respective Regional Centers for the placement.
