With the rapid expansion in the education sector in Bhutan, as indicated by the growing number of students, the Royal Government of Bhutan has allowed the establishment of Private Schools. Currently, the level upto which privitization is allowed has been kept as class XII.

In order for the expansion and development of private schools to take place within established social and national imperatives, the Royal Government of Bhutan has come up with a set of guidelines that must be followed by the individual and private enterprises seeking to establish private schools. This set of guidelines can be downloaded here. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) can be downloaded here.
