May 28: The President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa, contributed 10,000 US Dollars as Sri Lanka’s support for the successful completion of the Buddha Statue at Kuenselphodrang in Thimphu.
The Cheque was presented by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to India, Prasad Kariyawasam, on behalf of the President, to the ambassador of Bhutan to India, Major General V Namgyel, on Wendesday, at the Royal Bhutanese Embassy.
